Meet The Owner

Marissa

OWNER

Double Certified in Professional Dog Walking and Pet First Aid & CPR

My journey with dogs began in grade 4 when I began relentlessly pestering my parents about getting a dog. I delivered a persuasive speech titled “How to Convince Your Parents to Get You a Dog” for my school speech fest which sealed the deal and led to Bailey joining our family. Though Bailey has crossed the rainbow bridge, his memory lives on as the playful pup in our logo.

Growing up, I watched my parents run their own businesses, witnessing firsthand the impact small businesses can have on communities and families. That entrepreneurial spirit stuck with me and I started my own dog walking company. I began as a solo dog walker and faced the challenge of juggling multiple roles within running a business. I wanted to provide the best service for pet parents in every area of my business so I began bringing on dedicated team members who care for the dog’s and I handle the rest with expertise and enthusiasm, ensuring every dog and pet parent has the best experience with our company as possible.

After founding Lower Mainland Dog Walker, one of the top dog walking companies in BC, I decided to embark on my next adventure when my family moved to Airdrie. This was the start of Northern Paws Dog Walking.

Meet Your Professional Care Team

Tahmar

TEAM LEAD

Hi, I’m Tahmar! I’m a lifelong animal lover with a deep appreciation for the joy dogs bring into our lives. Born and raised in Calgary, I split my time between singing a cappella with my local chorus, performing at poetry slams, and enjoying the outdoors. Over the years I’ve cared for pets of all temperaments and species, building strong bonds through patience and love. Since I can’t have pets in my building, dog walking gives me the chance to spend time with four-legged friends while exploring the city. For me, it’s not just about walks—it’s about making each dog feel loved and cared for.

Vanessa

TEAM LEAD

Hi, I’m Vanessa! Born and raised in Calgary, I grew up surrounded by dogs and have cared for pups of all sizes. I love being outdoors, making sure each dog gets the exercise, attention, and belly rubs they deserve. When I’m not out walking dogs, I’m hiking, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or dreaming about one day having a farm full of animals.

Jessica

DOG WALKER

My name is Jessica, and I’ve been around animals my entire life. My passion for dogs has led me to become a dog sitter and to foster dogs with my family. When I’m not hanging out with dogs, my hobbies include drawing, camping, and reading.

Adrian

DOG WALKER

My name is Adrian, and I am a graphic designer & user experience designer here in Airdrie AB. I have always had a love for animals, big and small; we had two Bichon Shih Tzu’s growing up, and we went on so many fun adventures over the years. Although we don’t have a dog right now (as were bunny owners at the moment), I do interact with dogs almost on a daily basis with either the neighbours dogs or my parents dog. Animals bring me so much joy and I love getting to know their fun personalities.
When I’m not working, I like to hit up a round of Disc Golf or go for a ride on the Vespa!

Aoife

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Aoife! I recently graduated from university with a major in sustainability, fine arts, and photography. Animals have been a constant in my life, and I’ve been lucky to share my home with a dog for most of it. I’ve worked closely with rescue organizations, fostering both dogs and cats, and four years ago I adopted my own rescue pup, Tulloo. I love staying active—whether it’s hiking, camping, playing sports, or going on adventures—and I’m happiest when I can bring a dog along. As a photographer, I’m especially drawn to capturing outdoor sports, adventures, and furry friends.

Caleigh

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Caleigh! I’m a creative soul who loves making movies, taking photos, and playing video games. When I’m not indoors, I’m outside enjoying a good walk—always better with a dog by my side. I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over eight years, looking after pets all over my neighborhood, and I’m excited to make new furry friends. Whether it’s a stroll, a cuddle, or playtime, I’m here to make every pet feel happy and loved.

Darla

DOG WALKER

Hi! I’m Darla. Now that I’m retired, I’m thrilled to spend more of my days in the company of furry friends. I enjoy learning to play pool, paddling with my dragon boat team, and staying active, but there’s nothing better than sharing time and adventures with a lovable dog.

Valentina

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Valentina! My lifelong love of dogs started with my childhood best friend—a big yellow lab—and now I’m always eager to meet new canine companions. When I’m not making friends with dogs, I play second violin with the Calgary String Collective, attend Calgary Phil concerts, and work as a French/Spanish to English translator.

Chrisoula

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Chris! Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I can’t imagine a day without them. I foster and volunteer in dog rescue, which has taught me so much about patience, understanding, and the joy that comes from helping dogs feel safe and loved. At home, I’m a proud mom of three amazing kids and one very spoiled foster fail named Ivy. Whether I’m out for a walk, giving belly rubs, or playing enrichment games, I treat every dog like they’re part of my own pack. When I’m not hanging out with dogs, you’ll usually find me baking something sweet, crocheting, or playing around with my Cricut to make fun projects.

Nushin

DOG WALKER

Hi, my name is Nushin. I started my career as a Social Worker and later became a Dog Groomer. On the days I’m not working as a groomer, I love getting outside and walking dogs, giving them the exercise, attention, and care they deserve.
I’m an energetic and positive person who enjoys being outdoors, rain, shine, or snow. I take pride in making walks a fun and safe part of each dog’s day while getting to know their unique personalities. Dog walking allows me to connect with pets in a different way, and I truly enjoy helping them stay happy, active, and well-cared-for

Jelena

DOG WALKER

Hi, my name is Jelena, originally from Germany. I left my cozy and secure life back home for a new adventure in Canada — and I couldn’t be happier!
Dogs are truly special to me: whether I’m making my clients’ pups happy or caring for my own puppy, their wagging tails can instantly turn any day around. I love being outdoors, no matter the weather, and when I’m not walking dogs, you’ll probably find me hiking in the mountains. I enjoy finding fun ways to keep walks exciting and making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved — and I’m always ready to contribute wherever I can!
