Meet The Owner

Marissa

OWNER

Double Certified in Professional Dog Walking and Pet First Aid & CPR

My journey with dogs began in grade 4 when I began relentlessly pestering my parents about getting a dog. I delivered a persuasive speech titled “How to Convince Your Parents to Get You a Dog” for my school speech fest which sealed the deal and led to Bailey joining our family. Though Bailey has crossed the rainbow bridge, his memory lives on as the playful pup in our logo.

Growing up, I watched my parents run their own businesses, witnessing firsthand the impact small businesses can have on communities and families. That entrepreneurial spirit stuck with me and I started my own dog walking company. I began as a solo dog walker and faced the challenge of juggling multiple roles within running a business. I wanted to provide the best service for pet parents in every area of my business so I began bringing on dedicated team members who care for the dog’s and I handle the rest with expertise and enthusiasm, ensuring every dog and pet parent has the best experience with our company as possible.

After founding Lower Mainland Dog Walker, one of the top dog walking companies in BC, I decided to embark on my next adventure when my family moved to Airdrie. This was the start of Northern Paws Dog Walking.

Caleigh

TEAM LEAD

Hi, I’m Caleigh! I’m a creative soul who loves making movies, taking photos, and playing video games. When I’m not indoors, I’m outside enjoying a good walk—always better with a dog by my side. I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over eight years, looking after pets all over my neighborhood, and I’m excited to make new furry friends. Whether it’s a stroll, a cuddle, or playtime, I’m here to make every pet feel happy and loved.

Courtney

TEAM LEAD

Hi! My name is Courtney and I’ve been working with dogs (and cats!) for over two years now. I love making new fur friends and having adventures with them, exploring new places and getting to know their personalities. While I don’t have any dogs of my own yet, I have three cats who are my whole world, and I grew up in a home that always had more animals than people.

Rachel

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Rachel. I am originally from Liverpool in the UK. I moved to Canada in March 2025 with my husband and our 10 year old Cockapoo Milly. We originally moved to Edmonton & made the move to Calgary in February 2026. I love hanging out with my dog, she’s my bestie. I also love camping and exploring new places. I cannot wait to explore all that Calgary and the surrounding areas have to offer.

Jessica M.

DOG WALKER

I’ve been living in Calgary for the past 20 years and have been pet sitting for over a decade. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly love them all, from dogs and cats to wildlife. I have a special soft spot for the often misunderstood “unlovables” too, especially bats, skunks, and crows.

When I’m not spending time with animals, you’ll usually find me swimming, camping, painting, or hunting for unique vintage treasures while thrifting.

Valentina

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Valentina! My lifelong love of dogs started with my childhood best friend—a big yellow lab—and now I’m always eager to meet new canine companions. When I’m not making friends with dogs, I play second violin with the Calgary String Collective, attend Calgary Phil concerts, and work as a French/Spanish to English translator.

Darla

DOG WALKER

Hi! I’m Darla. Now that I’m retired, I’m thrilled to spend more of my days in the company of furry friends. I enjoy learning to play pool, paddling with my dragon boat team, and staying active, but there’s nothing better than sharing time and adventures with a lovable dog.

Abbey

DOG WALKER

My name is Abbey and I love all things animal! From dogs and cats to snakes and lizards I want to provide a safe and healthy environment for them all. I have one golden retriever named flash, two kitties and three geckos at home. Eventually I want to become a veterinarian where I can learn the ins and outs of all pets!

Bobby

DOG WALKER

I’m Alberta born and raised and I call Calgary and the mountains home. I’m 39, the proud dog dad of my nearly 6 year old Black Lab Nova and the foundation to my well-being is staying active. I love hiking adventures, skiing, snowboarding and being out in the mountains any chance I get. I’ve become addicted to Cross-Fit, enjoying running outdoors and being out in nature. I’m a social guy so being around people and creating meaningful and ever-lasting memories is key for me. I love my friends and my family as well. I’m always looking to learn and grow.

Olivia

DOG WALKER

Hi, I am Olivia! I’ve worked in the animal care industry for about 3.5 years now and am passionate about animals! I have dealt with a wide range of dog behaviours and have learnt how to build trust with the dog and creating a safe environment for them to thrive in. I believe that caring for pets is not just a job but a calling the required patience, empathy, and dedication. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, especially the mountains, and living my life guided by my faith in Jesus, striving to reflect His love and compassion in all that I do.

Tahmar

TEAM LEAD

Hi, I’m Tahmar! I’m a lifelong animal lover with a deep appreciation for the joy dogs bring into our lives. Born and raised in Calgary, I split my time between singing a cappella with my local chorus, performing at poetry slams, and enjoying the outdoors. Over the years I’ve cared for pets of all temperaments and species, building strong bonds through patience and love. Since I can’t have pets in my building, dog walking gives me the chance to spend time with four-legged friends while exploring the city. For me, it’s not just about walks—it’s about making each dog feel loved and cared for.

Chrisoula

TEAM LEAD

Hi, I’m Chris! Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I can’t imagine a day without them. I foster and volunteer in dog rescue, which has taught me so much about patience, understanding, and the joy that comes from helping dogs feel safe and loved. At home, I’m a proud mom of three amazing kids and one very spoiled foster fail named Ivy. Whether I’m out for a walk, giving belly rubs, or playing enrichment games, I treat every dog like they’re part of my own pack. When I’m not hanging out with dogs, you’ll usually find me baking something sweet, crocheting, or playing around with my Cricut to make fun projects.

Elaine

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Elaine. I’ve always loved dogs, but that love grew even deeper after having our black Lab for 13 years. Caring for him through every stage taught me so much about patience, routine, and how to really understand a dog’s needs. I’m calm, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. Whether your pup needs a good walk, a slow sniff-around, or just some company, l make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for, just like we did with our own.

Aislinn

DOG WALKER

I love animals and have spent most of my life involved in their care. Getting to explore the outdoors with a canine friend is my idea of a dream job.  When not walking dogs I am usually experimenting in the kitchen, painting, or going for even more walks in the woods.

Airdrie

Jessica P.

DOG WALKER

My name is Jessica, and I’ve been around animals my entire life. My passion for dogs has led me to become a dog sitter and to foster dogs with my family. When I’m not hanging out with dogs, my hobbies include drawing, camping, and reading.

Kayla

DOG WALKER

Hi, I’m Kayla — a lifelong dog lover, nature lover, and active stay-at-home mom who believes dogs are truly family. My sweet Chihuahua, Sadie, was by my side for 12 wonderful years and taught me the difference between owning a dog and being their human. She showed me how deep the bond with a dog can be, and I carry that love into every pup I meet. Whether it’s a sunny walk, fresh air, exercise, or gentle companionship, I’m passionate about helping dogs feel happy, cared for, and loved.
